What we collect, and why
Contact form
When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, and the message you write. We use this to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to carry out the work you ask for. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and taking steps to enter into a contract where you're asking about a project.
The form is processed by Formspree, which delivers your message to our inbox.
If you email us directly, we keep the correspondence for as long as it's relevant to the enquiry or any resulting work, as part of our normal business records.
Analytics — no cookies
We use Fathom Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service. It sets no cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not store personal information — which is why you don't see a cookie banner on this site. We see aggregate, anonymised statistics only (pages viewed, referral source, country). The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like most hosting providers, Cloudflare processes technical data (such as IP addresses) transiently to serve the site and protect it from attacks.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
- We don't use advertising trackers or social media pixels.
- We don't set cookies on this website.
- We don't send marketing emails unless you've asked for them.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers needed to run this site, acting as processors on our behalf: Formspree (contact form delivery), Fathom Analytics (aggregate analytics), and Cloudflare (hosting and security). Some of these providers process data in the United States under appropriate safeguards such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
Enquiry messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Records relating to actual client work are kept for the duration of the engagement and for the period required for legal, accounting, and tax purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] — we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged clearly.
